Weeks after their first visit the adventures came back. The dwarf in full armor walks up to the sisters in the garden, giving them pats on their head and plays with the children. On the other hand the elf was not in robes and ready for anything. She was in a simple dress with three bags.

One she gave to the children. Full of toys of all kinds. Wooden swords and shields for the older children. While the younger got dolls, stuffed beast, and wooden figures to build their future army’s. She even bought balls for all of them to play together.

The second she gave to the nuns. It full of food and sweets for all. The last bag, she gave to the head priest. Although it was the smallest bag it seemed to weigh the most. When the priest opens it he begins to cry. Seeing this Shadow comes running and hugs the man, wondering what is wrong?

He assures her that they are not tears of sadness or pain, but joy of what’s to come. Her sister either feeling Shadows confusion, or just watching in a hidden spot Jacquelyn comes out as well. The priest calls her over and tells them the news. A new home, a new family, and as since birth, always together.

The elf kneels and calls to the girls. Hesitant, the priest gives them a little push sending them to the elf out reached hands. She takes them in her arms and gives them a tight hug and with a single word they feel the magic wash over them. As if a mirror the sister see themselves in the other change.

“Whoever casted there magic to keep you safe, loved you deeply. As I will from now on. If you wish, I will teach you magic to fight or protect. My friend can teach you to use any blade or bow. Both of you can be the strongest adventures, or you can live to be a chef, a blacksmith, or even a nun as long as you are happy.”

Their faces now a mix of man and cat. Wide eyes that see more then possible, a smaller nose that can smell the pie in the kitchen just starting to cook, and tiny fangs. Where there ears were on the side of their heads now they are on the top and hear the tiniest sound.

Jacquelyn is the first to notice their new black tails that swing to side to side. With the help of Shadow she also discovers their new claws as her tail is grabbed by her sister and she shrieks in pain. Although it takes them by surprise they know this is how they were meant to be.

They take several moments to pack and after one last meal with their old family they say their goodbyes. Goodbye to the nuns that raised them. To the friends and siblings that grew up with and shared adventures only children can have. And finally to the priest that thought them what he could.

When they are finished they join the elf their new mother and the dwarf in a carriage and travel to their new home.
